Writing a few real estate goalswas easy – I have a lot more I could put down as well. I’m having a harder time putting down some personal goals without them sounding goofy. I don’t need to lose weight and I do
a decent job of exercising – yes, there is always room for improvement and I could always eat more nutritious food but that’s not what I want to focus on for the next year. These are the things that are important to me right now:
- Always make time for family and friends.
- Put better systems in place at home- a lot of times my house looks like a minor tornado came through – a lot of that is having a small child at home and adults who basically work seven days a week. The small boy can start learning organization skills as well. I think this one is going to be a group project.
- Keep a positive attitude – stay focused. Yes that spills over to professional but especially in a year where I will be growing a business having the right attitude will be key to making everything happen.
- Have fun.

Carolyn,
It is fine to have corny personal goals! I think it is very important to have personal goals as well as professional goals and that we should outline how we will achieve them just like in our profession.
Having a goal like improving our relationship with our spouse – for example – is great. Having a goal like I will improve my relationship with my spouse by : having a weekly date night, taking 3 trips together, and spending 10 minutes in a good conversation every morning is much much better IMO.
Wayne I know you have been working on very detailed goals – I’ve done that it the past. After I wrote this I saw this post: http://www.chrisbrogan.com/your-3-goals-for-2009/ basically outlining in three words your goal strategy for the year. I like this idea. Mine are attitude, systems, friendship. Do I have specifics on how I’m going to achieve my goals – yes I certainly do – am I going to share them all on a blog – probably not.
