I have made real friends and connections with people I follow on twitter - not just through brief conversations but through real estate forums and also following blogs. Some people I got to know better during the Sarasota Association of Realtors hijacking of Marc Rasmussen’s Sarasota MLS site while others I met at the Real Estate Webmaster’s SEO conference last year.
Yeah President’s day was Monday – so I’m running a little behind – that seems to be normal for me these days – I was busy with the Tour of California starting in Davis, blogging, updating market statistics, doing “the real estate stuff” and making a facebook page for Sacramento Real Estate
A few of my friends this week were in the same city (at least for a little while) with the current President. All of these people are well worth following on twitter.
Kevin Koitz – twitter @kkoitz currently sells real estate in Bethesda MD just outside of Washington DC so he’s in close proximity to Presidential politics quite often. Kevin’s moving to California soon – that will be fun because we can meet sometimes to discuss all things real estate, blogging and creative ways to get our websites found on the internet.
Zack Katz twitter @303Zachary is a Denver web designer who I am sure would one day like to design the official White House website. I don’t think he went to see President Obama when he was in Denver – but I’m positive he was following his visit.
Jay Thompson twitter @PhxREguy has been making a lot of noise about the stimulus bill and mortgage “stability plan” especially timely with the President visiting Phoenix on Wednesday. I don’t know Jay personally very well – but I read his blog regularly and think it is a great example of how to do a real estate blog the right way.
Cal Carter twitter @gulfshoreslife – well he’s down along the Gulf Shores of Alabama – don’t think the President was there but he just got a new iphone and he’s close to the beach so I’m jealous.
Finally Jolenta twitter @Jolenta also wasn’t anywhere near the President this week but she’s working really hard at promoting her new site- trying to build links and getting pages indexed. Her site has been live for about a month – she’s doing a good job and she should start seeing her hard work pay off in a few months.
I’m trying to be a little more inclusive on who I follow on twitter – having fun this week following some of the pro-cyclists who are in the Tour of California. Let me know who else I’m missing out on.

Thanks for the shout-out Carolyn. I have been working like a dog but have made a TON of progress this week. Will update you soon on what’s happening. I also have a cool tip for your blog that I’ll be sharing soon.
This article greatly supports the many other good things I have heard about Twitter!
